Apple launches campaign to promote Safari over Chrome on Mac

Apple has launched a new marketing campaign, ‘Switch to Safari’, aimed at encouraging Mac users to replace Google Chrome with its native browser. The initiative focuses on three primary pillars: performance, battery life, and privacy.

According to Apple, Safari can provide up to five additional hours of video playback on a Mac compared to Chrome. The company also claims that Safari loads frequently visited sites up to 45 percent faster. Technical features highlighted in the campaign include Intelligent Tracking Prevention to limit cross-site tracking and Distraction Control to hide intrusive webpage elements.

The campaign arrives as Apple attempts to gain market share in a segment where Chrome maintains a significant lead. Data indicates Chrome holds a dominant global market share, while Safari remains a secondary option for many users. The marketing strategy uses direct comparisons to position Safari as a more efficient and private alternative to Google’s browser.
