Apple launches iOS 27 with Connectivity Assist and iPadOS 27 performance boost

Apple announced its iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 updates at WWDC, highlighting a new feature called Connectivity Assist that replaces the older Wi‑Fi Assist. The function continuously monitors connection quality and automatically switches between Wi‑Fi and cellular data when the Wi‑Fi network is weak or unstable, aiming to keep internet traffic flowing without user intervention.

The updates also expand Apple Intelligence across the operating systems, improve Safari tab organization, and introduce design refinements such as Liquid Glass. Performance enhancements are emphasized, with Apple claiming up to a 30 % faster app launch and up to a 70 % speed increase in the Photos app, while reducing energy consumption to extend battery life, especially on older iPad models.
