Apple launches iOS 27 with Siri chatbot powered by Google Gemini at WWDC 2026

On June 8, 2026 Apple opened its WWDC keynote by unveiling iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27. The centerpiece is a redesigned Siri that functions as a full‑featured chatbot built on Google’s Gemini large‑language model. Apple plans to release the new Siri as a "beta" preview, potentially using a wait‑list system similar to earlier Apple Intelligence rollouts. The assistant will be accessed via a dedicated app with chat history synced through iCloud and configurable auto‑deletion periods.

The operating‑system updates also bring design refinements to several native apps. Camera and Image Playground receive major visual overhauls and added customization, while Dov’è, Weather and Safari gain modest UI tweaks such as new icons, expanded condition panels and a four‑tab start page.
