Apple launches macOS 27 Golden Gate with major Siri AI updates

Apple has launched macOS 27, also known as Golden Gate, which introduces significant updates centered on performance, bug fixes, and the integration of Siri AI. While currently in beta and initially rolling out in English, the new Siri experience is deeply integrated into the operating system.

A major change is the elevation of Siri within Spotlight. The new ‘Search or Ask’ interface allows users to interact with the assistant directly through the system’s primary search tool. Additionally, a dedicated Siri app has been introduced, enabling users to manage and search through previous conversations, which are synchronized across Apple devices.

Other notable features include Visual Intelligence, which allows users to select on-screen elements to request explanations, translations, or information via a keyboard shortcut. The update also includes ‘Write with Siri’ capabilities for text generation and various refinements to existing Apple applications and interface elements.
