Apple launches Siri chatbot app with iOS 27 and opens macOS 27 “Golden Gate” beta
Apple announced iOS 27 at its WWDC 2026 keynote, highlighting the debut of a dedicated Siri app that functions as a full‑screen chatbot. The app offers a text‑based conversation window, retains chat history, and can search the user’s mail, photos, messages and calendar. Users can also upload PDFs or images for Siri to summarise. The feature will roll out with iOS 27 in September 2026, initially in English, with other languages such as Dutch to follow.
In the same event Apple released the first developer beta of macOS 27, code‑named “Golden Gate”. The beta became available to registered developers on 8 June 2026, with a public beta slated for July and the final OS expected in September 2026. The preview includes assorted performance and design improvements, though it is advised to install it on a secondary device or volume due to potential instability.
