Apple launches Switch to Safari campaign to attract Chrome users
Apple has launched a “Switch to Safari” campaign aimed at encouraging iPhone and Mac users to migrate from Google Chrome to its native Safari browser. The campaign includes a dedicated website and promotional videos on YouTube.
Apple highlights several performance advantages, claiming Safari can allow users to watch online videos on a Mac for up to five hours longer than Chrome on a single charge. Additionally, the company states that Safari can load frequently visited websites up to 35% faster. The campaign also promotes “Distraction Control,” a feature that enables users to hide distracting web elements like pop-ups.
A major pillar of the campaign is privacy. Apple emphasizes that Safari blocks third-party cookies by default and utilizes Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) to limit user tracking and data collection for advertising purposes.
