Apple hardware leaks reveal new iPad mini, iPad 12, and HomePod mini

Leaks from Apple’s internal software code, discovered by researcher Aaron Perris, suggest several upcoming hardware updates. A new iPad mini (8th generation) is expected to feature an A20 Pro chip, an OLED display, and a relocated front-facing camera optimized for landscape orientation. The device may also include improved water resistance and a new vibration-based speaker system.

Additionally, the entry-level iPad 12 is rumored to arrive as early as spring 2027. This model is expected to include an A19 chip and at least 8GB of RAM, which would enable support for Apple Intelligence. Connectivity upgrades for the iPad 12 may include an in-house C1X modem and an N1 networking chip supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

Other potential releases include a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K and a HomePod mini 2. The HomePod mini 2 is expected to maintain its current design but offer new color options, including green, pink, blue, white, and black. Some reports suggest these devices are being held for release until a more advanced version of Siri is ready to power them.
