Apple MacBook Neo targets student market with A18 Pro chip
Apple has introduced the MacBook Neo, an entry-level laptop designed primarily for students ranging from middle school through college. The device features the A18 Pro chip, which is capable of handling standard academic tasks such as web research, video conferencing, and document editing.
While the laptop offers solid battery life and port selection, certain hardware limitations may affect specific users. The base model includes 8GB of RAM, which may struggle with heavy multitasking or professional applications. Additionally, the display utilizes an sRGB color range, making it less suitable for students specializing in professional photo or video editing.
In competition, Microsoft is offering a student bundle for qualifying U.S. college students with a .edu email address. This deal includes 12 months of Microsoft 365 Premium, 12 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and a custom controller with qualifying Windows PCs.
