Apple Music to introduce AI-generated content labels
New transparency regulations are emerging in the music and digital content industries to address the rise of artificial intelligence. In the music sector, Apple Music is set to roll out ‘Made With AI’ labels for tracks to increase platform transparency. This move follows reports indicating that nearly 40 percent of new music on streaming services in July was partially or entirely AI-generated. Similarly, Spotify has announced plans to mark AI personas to maintain artist-fan trust.
Legal tensions are also escalating, as Round Hill Music has filed lawsuits against Suno and Anthropic. The company alleges that these entities used copyrighted songs and lyrics without authorization to train AI models, potentially leading to damages exceeding $1 billion.
