Apple Music to label AI-generated tracks amid artist concerns

Apple Music has announced plans to introduce a ‘Made With AI’ label for qualifying tracks later this year. The initiative aims to provide listeners with transparency regarding whether music was produced by humans, AI systems, or a combination of both. While the move addresses growing consumer interest in AI disclosure, specific details regarding the threshold of AI involvement required for the label remain unconfirmed.

In Fiji, the rise of AI-generated music is prompting calls for legislative updates. Tikiko Ratu Korocowiri, Director of Spinning Village, noted that current copyright laws are outdated and require parliamentary review to protect local musicians. Artists expressed concerns that while technology can support production, it must not replace human creativity or diminish the economic opportunities available to local performers.
