Apple next entry-level iPad expected to feature A19 chip and Wi-Fi 7

Apple is reportedly developing its next entry-level iPad, which is expected to launch next spring. Leaked technical documentation suggests the device will feature the A19 chip, an N1 networking component, and a C1X modem for cellular models, enabling Wi-Fi 7 support for the company’s most affordable tablet line.

The upcoming hardware will include 8GB of RAM, a specification intended to support baseline Siri AI functions. However, the device will likely lack the 12GB of memory required for more advanced local AI models and intensive dictation features.

The refresh of the current A16-based model has faced delays, potentially due to an ongoing memory crisis within the electronics industry. While the device is expected to receive these internal hardware upgrades, minimal changes to the industrial design, display, or chassis are anticipated, though new color options may be available.
