Apple prepares new Apple TV with AI Siri and iPad mini OLED updates
Apple is reportedly preparing several hardware and software updates for its ecosystem, with significant focus on the Apple TV and iPad mini.
Leaks from macOS code and industry reports suggest a new Apple TV 4K may launch this fall. Expected upgrades include an A17 Pro chip or newer, increased RAM (potentially up to 8GB), Wi-Fi 7 support, and a redesigned Siri Remote. A major software shift is anticipated with tvOS 27, which is expected to integrate an AI-powered version of Siri, internally referred to as ‘Campo’.
Additionally, Apple is rumored to be developing a new home hub, potentially called ‘HomePad’. This device would run a version of tvOS and feature a widget-based interface similar to Apple Watch faces, with privacy settings that only display personal information when the user’s iPhone is nearby.
In the tablet segment, a new iPad mini is expected to transition from LCD to OLED technology. This model may also feature the A19 Pro chip and a new vibration-based speaker system designed to improve water resistance by eliminating traditional speaker grilles.
