Apple opens Houston manufacturing center to produce Mac mini
Apple has officially opened its Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) in Houston, Texas. The 20,000-square-foot facility is located within an existing plant that currently produces and ships advanced artificial intelligence servers for the company.
CEO Tim Cook announced that the site will begin manufacturing Mac mini computers later this year. The opening of the center is part of Apple’s broader $600 billion commitment to expanding manufacturing capabilities within the United States.
The AMC is designed to serve as a training hub, offering free educational programming and hands-on workshops to small and medium-sized businesses. The curriculum includes instruction on assembly principles, printed circuit board design, machine-learning-driven quality control, and advanced automation. Apple plans to eventually extend these training opportunities to local college students to support the future of American manufacturing.
