Apple develops camera‑equipped AirPods and health‑focused smart glasses

Apple is working on two camera‑equipped AirPods variants, internally codenamed B790 and B798. The B790 model is reported to be further along and could debut as early as September 2026, while the B798 version is slated for a 2027 launch. Both devices will not capture photos or video; instead, their cameras will feed visual‑intelligence data to Siri for contextual assistance.

Apple’s Vision Products Group is also hiring a strategic product design leader to define health, well‑being and fitness experiences for its upcoming smart glasses. The company plans to make these non‑AR glasses a health‑ and fitness‑platform, but such features are not expected in the first generation, which is targeted for release toward the end of 2027. A prior effort to bring Apple Fitness+ to the Vision Pro headset was abandoned because the headset was too heavy and faced technical hurdles.

These developments were reported by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman and appear in multiple leak‑based reports and job listings.
