Apple's HomePad Smart Home Hub Expected Launch October 2026

Apple is developing a new smart‑home hub, referred to as HomePad, that combines a 7‑inch square display with a speaker. The device will be offered in two configurations – a tabletop model and a wall‑mount version – and will run a fresh operating system that blends elements of tvOS, watchOS and iOS. A key feature is on‑device facial recognition, allowing the hub to identify the user and automatically adjust the interface, showing personal calendars, notes and other content. The hub is slated to debut between October 2026 and early 2027, coinciding with a refreshed HomePod mini priced at $129 and an updated Apple TV 4K priced at $199, both equipped with faster processors to support the new Siri AI assistant. Apple is also reportedly working on a higher‑end version with a 9‑inch screen and a robotic arm, and a separate security‑camera system intended to compete with Amazon’s Ring products. The rollout is tied to the release of Siri AI, which Apple plans to embed across its ecosystem later this year.
