Apple prepares major iPad Air redesign for 2027

Apple is reportedly preparing a major design overhaul for the iPad Air, expected to arrive in early 2027. This would mark the product's first significant redesign since the fourth generation was released in 2020.

Key anticipated upgrades include a transition to an OLED screen, specifically a single-stack LTPS panel supplied by Samsung Display. The device is also expected to feature the new M5 chip. While specific chassis details remain unconfirmed, rumors suggest Apple may adopt design elements seen in the upcoming iPad mini, such as a slimmer enclosure, water resistance, and a speaker system that utilizes vibrations rather than traditional speaker holes to maintain a more enclosed design.
