Apple price hikes prompt users to delay upgrades, survey finds

A poll of thousands of 9to5Mac readers shows that more than 90% would change their purchasing behavior in response to recent Apple price increases, which in some cases have risen over 50% and doubled the cost of memory and storage upgrades. The most common reaction, chosen by 38% of respondents, is to upgrade less frequently, while 14% said they would wait for sales, 12% would drop one or more Apple products, and 9% would switch to lower‑end models.

Analysts note that supply‑chain pricing is unlikely to improve before 2028, suggesting the higher pricing could persist for years. The anticipated slowdown in upgrade cycles may affect Apple’s sales growth and could eventually lead the company to consider price adjustments to sustain demand.
