Apple increases prices for Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2

Apple has implemented significant price increases for key components of its entertainment and smart-home ecosystem. The new Apple TV 4K is priced at $299 in the US, a notable rise from previous entry points of $129. The HomePod mini 2 has also seen a price shift, now retailing for $149.

Industry analysts suggest these hardware price hikes, which also affect competitors like Amazon and Google, may be driven by the rising costs of RAM and storage due to the ongoing AI-driven demand for memory. While Apple's new Apple TV 4K features the A9 Pro chip and is designed for Apple Intelligence, the higher cost may limit its appeal to dedicated users.

In response to these shifts, retailers like Amazon are offering early pre-order discounts on some new Apple hardware, including the Apple TV 4K and the HomeView smart display, as well as promotional pricing on AirPods Pro 3.
