Apple pushes ahead with its first smart iRing wearable

Apple is reportedly developing a new smart ring, tentatively called the iRing, that would join its wearable lineup alongside the Apple Watch. The tip‑off comes from leaker Kosutami, who says the project is still in early development and no official announcement or launch date has been set. The iRing is expected to function as a screen‑free alternative to the Apple Watch, offering fitness tracking, health monitoring and advanced sensors in a compact form factor. If released, it would compete with existing smart rings such as Samsung’s Galaxy Ring and the Oura Ring.

The device is said to be designed primarily for iPhone users and would likely integrate tightly with Apple’s ecosystem, leveraging the company’s expertise in health metrics. Pricing could be lower than current Apple Watch models, though details on design, battery life or specifications remain speculative. Development work is said to be taking place at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters.
