Apple raises prices on MacBook Neo, iPad and other devices amid memory chip cost surge
Apple announced a series of price increases across its product lineup, attributing the moves to sharply higher DRAM and NAND flash component costs. In the United States, the base‑model MacBook Neo rose from $599 to $699, the MacBook Air from $1,099 to $1,299, the 14‑inch MacBook Pro from $1,699 to $1,999, the Mac desktop from $1,299 to $1,499, the iPad Air from $599 to $749 and the iPad Pro from $999 to $1,199. Other items such as Apple TV, HomePod, HomePod Mini and the Vision Pro headset also saw notable hikes.
In Hungary, the same adjustments were reflected in forint terms, with price rises ranging from about 7 % to 31 %. The MacBook Neo’s price increased by 20,000 Ft, the iPad Air by 70,000 Ft, and the Apple TV 4K by 18,000 Ft, among other changes. Apple CEO Tim Cook warned that the company could no longer shield customers from the memory‑price pressure, making the increases inevitable.
