Apple plans aggressive 2027 hardware rollout with new iPad Pro, entry‑level MacBook Pro and Mac Studio M5 Ultra

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is testing four new iPad Pro variants that retain the current 11‑inch and 13‑inch sizes and will feature a vapor‑chamber cooling system. The devices are slated for a spring 2027 release, following the October 2025 upgrade to the iPad Pro with the M5 chip and a price increase of $200‑$250.

The same report details a redesign of the entry‑level 14‑inch MacBook Pro, expected in the first half of 2027, which will incorporate an M6 processor, a dynamic‑island‑style webcam cutout and an OLED panel. Apple has also hinted at a touch‑screen MacBook later in the year, though that model would launch with an M5 chip. Recent price hikes include $300 for the MacBook Pro and $200 for the iPad Pro.

Separately, Apple’s forthcoming Mac Studio equipped with an M5 Ultra chip is scheduled for late‑2026. The new chip promises more than double the performance of the M2 Ultra and enhanced AI‑driven GPU capabilities, but the device is expected to cost between $4,700 and $5,000 amid global component shortages that could limit early supply.
