Apple releases iOS 26.5.2 security patch and iOS 26.5.1 charging fix

Apple issued iOS 26.5.2 on June 29, adding over two dozen security patches, many targeting WebKit components that power Safari and other iOS browsers. The release notes credit Anthropic’s Claude AI model with helping uncover a memory‑corruption vulnerability that was patched.

Earlier, Apple rolled out iOS 26.5.1 to address a wired‑charging defect affecting a small number of iPhone Air and iPhone 17 devices when the battery was nearly depleted. The update restores normal charging behaviour and can be installed via Settings → General → Software Update.
