Apple releases iOS 26.5.2 update fixing 30+ security flaws

Apple rolled out iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2, macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 and Safari 26.5.2 on June 29, addressing more than thirty security vulnerabilities across its platforms. Among the patches are four WebKit flaws identified with artificial‑intelligence tools – three credited to OpenAI’s Codex Security and one to Anthropic’s Claude – none of which have been exploited in the wild. The update also resolves kernel issues (CVE‑2026‑43722, CVE‑2026‑43724, CVE‑2026‑39868) and other vulnerabilities reported under CVE identifiers.

The Japanese report notes a total of 37 CVEs corrected, including IOGPU‑related crashes, kernel memory corruption, and libxslt processing bugs that could cause unexpected process termination. Apple said the move to more frequent, standalone security releases reflects the faster development of AI‑assisted hacking tools, aiming to shorten the gap between discovery and protection for users worldwide.
