Apple releases iOS 26.6 beta with new contact‑block limit warning

Apple has launched the first developer beta of iOS 26.6, marking the final update in the iOS 26 series before the rollout of iOS 27 at WWDC on June 8. The beta arrives alongside early versions of macOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, watchOS 26.6 and tvOS 26.6, as part of a coordinated closure of the current software cycle.

The most visible change in the iOS 26.6 beta is a new alert that informs users when they have reached the maximum number of blocked contacts, a limit that previously had no visible feedback. The message reads, “You have reached the maximum number of blocked contacts. To block more, remove some from Settings.” Apple also plans a minor maintenance release, iOS 26.5.1, in the coming days to address any remaining issues.

The beta is scheduled to be available to developers through the end of July, providing a short window between the WWDC announcement of iOS 27 and its public launch in September.
