Apple releases iOS 27.2 RC with expanded Siri AI language support

Apple has released the Release Candidate (RC) versions of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, and macOS 27.2. A major feature of this update is the expansion of Siri AI to support five new languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean.

While the language expansion is significant, Siri AI remains unavailable to iPhone users within the 27 countries of the European Union. This restriction is due to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), a European regulation regarding digital markets. Consequently, users in regions such as Switzerland or Canada may gain access to the new French-language Siri AI before users in France.

In addition to the Siri AI updates, iOS 27.2 introduces user profiles for the Apple TV app and Call Context anniversary reminders. macOS 27.2 includes new gesture recognition tools in certain applications. A public release of these updates is expected before the end of October.
