Apple releases second beta for iOS and macOS 27.2

Apple has released the second developer beta for iOS 27.2, alongside updates for macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. A major highlight of the iOS update is a redesigned Health app, which introduces a 'Longevity' tab. This feature calculates a 'health age' score by analyzing long-term data such as movement, VO2 max, and sleep patterns, comparing the user's physiological state to their chronological age.

The Health app also features a new 'Insight' tab to centralize vital signs and activity rings. Users with Apple Watch Series 12 or Ultra 4 may receive a readiness indicator based on activity and sleep quality. Additionally, Apple is partnering with Quest Diagnostics to offer blood test packages for $119, with results integrated into the app.

In macOS 27.2, Apple has introduced visual refinements to the volume and brightness sliders used with keyboard controls. The new segmented design provides clearer feedback on the magnitude of adjustments compared to the previous thin line style, aiming for a more unified visual language across the operating system.
