Apple releases iOS 26.5.2 security update fixing over 25 vulnerabilities

Apple rolled out iOS 26.5.2, along with iPadOS 26.5.2 and macOS 26.5.2, on June 30 2026. The update patches more than 25 security flaws in components such as WebKit, the kernel, WebRTC and libxslt. Apple said the release was accelerated because advances in AI could enable faster creation of exploit tools, and urged all users to install the update promptly. No new consumer features were added.

The update’s release notes highlight over two dozen fixes, many addressing malicious web‑content vulnerabilities. One of the flaws was discovered with the help of Anthropic’s Claude AI model. Apple also confirmed that iOS 26.6 is slated for release in late July 2026, focusing on stability and bug fixes rather than major new features. Public beta versions of iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6, watchOS 26.6 and tvOS 26.6 have been seeded for developers and the broader beta community, with the next major iOS version, iOS 27, expected in September.
