Apple rolls out security update fixing 200+ vulnerabilities across iOS, macOS and other platforms

Apple released a suite of version 26.6 updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS Tahoe, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS, along with patches for older macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.8. The updates address roughly 194 unique security vulnerabilities – about 200 CVEs in total – across the company’s operating systems. Apple said no active exploitation of these flaws had been observed before the release. The patches include fixes for kernel issues, WebKit, AVEVideoEncoder, Game Center, ImageIO, SceneKit, and a notification bug that misidentified some apps as Intel‑only. macOS 26.6 also deprecates encrypted HFS+ support in a future release and focuses on stability and performance improvements without adding major new features. watchOS 26.6 recalibrates battery capacity on Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra. Apple recommends users install the updates promptly to maintain security and system reliability.
