Apple reportedly preparing iPad Gen 12 with A19 chip

Apple is reportedly developing the next generation of its entry-level iPad, potentially designated as the iPad Gen 12. Leaked information from Apple's code suggests significant hardware upgrades compared to the current iPad Gen 11.

Key anticipated improvements include the transition from the A16 Bionic chip to the A19 SoC, paired with an increase in RAM from 6GB to 8GB. This hardware boost is expected to enable Apple Intelligence features and enhanced Siri capabilities, which require higher processing power and memory.

Connectivity upgrades may include a C1X modem supporting 5G sub-6GHz and an N1 chip potentially introducing Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support. While these specifications have not been officially confirmed by Apple, the new model is estimated to launch around the spring of 2027.
