Apple reshuffles leadership for M&A and App Store
Apple is undergoing a significant leadership restructuring within its corporate development and services divisions. Steve Smith, a long-time associate of Adrian Perica, has been appointed to lead Apple’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team. In a notable organizational shift, the M&A team will now report directly to Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh, marking the first time the unit has been reintegrated into the finance department since 2019.
Adrian Perica, who held the M&A leadership role for over a decade, will remain at Apple. He will now oversee iCloud, Apple Fitness+, and Apple News, reporting to Eddy Cue, the Vice President of Services. Cue’s responsibilities are expanding to include the management of the App Store, health, and fitness teams.
Additionally, Carson Oliver has been named Vice President of the App Store, taking over daily management of the platform as Phil Schiller gradually steps back from day-to-day operations. These changes follow recent leadership transitions within the company, including the arrival of John Ternus.
