Apple opens iOS 27 public beta to all iPhone users

Apple has released the first public beta of iOS 27, making it available to any iPhone owner who registers with an Apple ID. The beta also includes companion releases for iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27 and HomePod Software 27. Users can enroll through the Apple Beta Software Program, then enable “Beta Updates” in Settings → General → Software Update to download the update.

The highlighted new features are a rebuilt “Siri AI” that can carry on multi‑turn conversations, access personal data on‑device and act across apps without sending information to Apple’s servers. Additional AI‑powered tools appear in the Camera, Photos, Safari and Translate apps, with the public beta adding Cantonese support to the native Translate app. Apple also introduced design changes under the “Liquid Glass” theme, faster app launch times (up to 30 % quicker), accelerated AirDrop transfers (up to 80 % faster) and expanded child‑safety controls in Screen Time.

WatchOS 27’s public beta brings Siri AI to the Apple Watch, improving contextual responses and integration with the iPhone. Similar updates are offered for tvOS 27 and HomePod Software 27. Apple advises installing the beta only on a secondary device and backing up data beforehand, as beta software may still contain bugs or stability issues.
