Apple releases iOS 27 beta 3 with Siri AI voice customization and new features
Apple has rolled out the third developer beta of iOS 27, extending the update to iPadOS 27, macOS 27 (Golden Gate), watchOS 27, tvOS 27 and visionOS 27. The headline feature is Siri AI, now offering voice customization: users can choose from eight AI‑generated voice profiles or adjust pace and expressivity with sliders. The new Siri voice settings also affect Apple Maps and Safari. Siri AI can pull information from third‑party apps and is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Vision Pro.
Other notable iOS 27 beta 3 changes include AI‑enhanced photo editing (edge‑extension and perspective correction), a “Write with Siri” button on the keyboard, AI‑driven extensions for Safari, dynamic “Liquid Glass” UI tweaks, custom passes in Wallet, and streamlined shortcut creation. Live Recognition adds on‑device object and text identification via the camera. System‑wide improvements such as a new rating system in Photos, enhanced RCS messaging, and refined control‑center status bars are also included. The voice‑customization feature is limited to high‑end devices that run the A19 Pro chip with at least 12 GB RAM, such as iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air.
Apple announced its largest U.S. manufacturing investment and a new agreement with Broadcom, alongside testing of DRAM from a banned Chinese supplier, underscoring broader supply‑chain moves tied to the iOS 27 rollout.
