Apple rolls out new iOS 27 Wallet features for Dutch iPhone users

Apple's upcoming iOS 27 update introduces a redesigned checkout screen in the Wallet app that lets users swipe easily between multiple bank cards, reducing the chance of selecting the wrong payment method. In the Netherlands the redesign arrives in September, while several US‑centric features such as point‑redeeming at checkout and the Tap‑to‑Share NFC function remain unavailable due to European privacy and competition rules.

The update also expands the types of loyalty and customer cards that can be added to Apple Wallet. Dutch users can now import cards from third‑party apps such as Bijdehand and Pass4Wallet, which support barcode, QR‑code and even screenshot‑based imports. Once imported, the cards generate digital passes that can be stored in Wallet for quick scanning at stores or terminals, providing a modern alternative to earlier apps like Stocard.

These changes aim to make Apple Wallet a more comprehensive hub for payment and loyalty cards on iPhone, specifically addressing Dutch user needs while adhering to EU regulations.
