Apple secures lower OLED display costs for iPhone 18 Pro

Apple has successfully negotiated significantly lower prices for OLED display panels from suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display. This move is intended to offset rising production costs for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series, driven by a global shortage of memory chips like RAM and SSDs caused by the artificial intelligence boom.

Reports indicate that while Apple paid between $110 and $120 per OLED panel for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the cost for the iPhone 18 Pro Max could drop to approximately $68 per unit. This reduction may help mitigate potential price hikes for consumers, which analysts previously estimated could reach $200 to $300 in the US market.
