Apple settles class-action lawsuits in US and Argentina

Apple has reached separate legal settlements regarding iPhone performance and software delivery in the United States and Argentina.

In the United States, Apple will pay $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit concerning delays in the rollout of Siri and Apple Intelligence features. The settlement targets original purchasers of iPhones between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, who expected software capabilities that were not fully delivered until late 2026. Eligible claimants may receive between $25 and $95 per device, with the deadline to apply set for December 21, 2026.

In Argentina, Apple has agreed to a $3 million settlement following a lawsuit by the Consumer Defense Association (ADELCO). This case addressed performance reductions in older iPhone models, including the iPhone 6, 6s, SE, and 7 series, caused by iOS power management features designed to prevent unexpected shutdowns in degraded batteries. Eligible users in Argentina may receive up to $40 per device, depending on the total number of approved claims.
