Apple is preparing a new generation of smart glasses that prioritize health monitoring rather than camera‑based functions. The design will embed sensors for heart‑rate variability, blood‑oxygen levels, sleep tracking and other physiological metrics, building on health features from the Vision Pro platform and aiming to address privacy concerns associated with camera‑equipped wearables.

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the AI‑enabled eyewear, codenamed N50, has been pushed back from a late‑2023 reveal to Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2027. Experts stress that privacy will be “priority No. 1,” calling for clear visual and audible recording signals, deliberate activation steps and easy controls to delete footage. The shift reflects broader industry caution after backlash against other smart‑glass products perceived as invasive.
