Apple signs $30 bn Broadcom chip‑manufacturing deal in the United States
Apple has entered a multi‑year agreement with Broadcom worth more than $30 billion to design and produce over 15 billion custom wireless chips, with all manufacturing to take place in the United States. As part of the deal Apple will invest $1.5 billion in capital to expand Broadcom’s facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, creating hundreds of jobs.
The contract is a component of Apple’s broader pledge to invest $600 billion in the U.S. economy over the next four years, a move announced after political pressure from the Trump administration for Apple to relocate more production to America.
