Apple has released version 4.2 of its iPhone‑only Sports app, expanding soccer coverage to include seven additional leagues from Europe and Asia: the Belgian Pro League, Danish Superliga, Dutch Eredivisie, Japan’s J1 League, Poland’s Ekstraklasa, the Scottish Premiership and the Swiss Super League. The update also introduces team‑formation views for most leagues, letting users see line‑ups and tactical setups.

The enhancement follows the 2026 FIFA World Cup and rolls out globally through the App Store, now reaching more than 170 countries and regions. Apple positions the free Sports app as a comprehensive hub for scores, standings and match details without a subscription, continuing its broader push into sports‑focused digital services.
