Apple tests Minions platform to link Mac GPU power for AI

Apple is developing a new platform called Minions designed to aggregate the GPU power of multiple Mac devices. This system allows companies to run demanding AI workloads by linking existing hardware into a single powerful unit, potentially saving millions in infrastructure costs. The Minion Server manages the distribution of tasks via API, utilizing system resources even while employees are actively working, provided the allocation does not impede their performance.

In a separate development, Google is offering university students in the Czech Republic a one-year free subscription to Gemini Pro through the Google AI Plus tariff. This plan provides access to a model capable of processing 32,000 tokens (approximately 50 pages) of context at once, along with 400 GB of cloud storage.
