Apple to launch Korean language support for Siri AI this month
Apple is set to expand its generative AI assistant, Siri AI, by adding Korean language support later this month. Following the English beta launch in September, the update aims to increase user engagement in South Korea through enhanced conversational abilities and localized integration.
The upgraded Siri AI utilizes Google’s Gemini technology to provide advanced multimodal capabilities, including Visual Intelligence. This allows the assistant to understand screen content, recognize images via camera, and perform complex tasks across multiple applications. For example, the system can search through message history to find specific recipes or analyze event posters to suggest calendar entries.
To optimize the experience for the South Korean market, Apple is collaborating with local technology giants Naver and Kakao. The service will also support global applications such as Outlook and Craft. Apple has emphasized that Siri AI operates within its internal security framework, ensuring that data used for AI workloads is deleted immediately after processing to maintain user privacy.
