Apple to launch MacBook Ultra with touchscreen and OLED by early 2027

Apple is preparing a new high‑end laptop, tentatively called the MacBook Ultra, that will be the first MacBook with a touchscreen. The device is expected to feature a 14‑inch or 16‑inch OLED display, incorporate the Dynamic Island interface, and run on the current M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Internal documents refer to the models as K114 and K116. Apple has reportedly cancelled the development of M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, focusing instead on M7 Pro and M7 Max slated for late 2027, so the Ultra will use the earlier generation processors. Bloomberg and other supply‑chain sources say the launch is slated for late 2026 or early 2027, marking the first major redesign of the MacBook line since 2021.
