Apple has made Release Candidate (RC) builds of iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6 and related operating systems available to developers. The RC stage is typically the final test before a public launch, signalling that a public rollout is imminent.

The update focuses on performance, reliability and security rather than new features. Minor visible changes include a notification when a user reaches the 20,000‑contact block limit and a security fix for Apple Maps. Apple also added code foundations for the upcoming Siri AI, which will debut with iOS 27.

While Apple has not set an official launch date, the Dutch report expects the public version to appear on Monday 27 July or Tuesday 28 July, following the pattern of previous midsummer releases. Users are advised to keep backups and avoid installing the beta on primary devices until the final version is released.
