Apple to roll out four new Macs and low‑cost MacBook Neo by year‑end

Apple plans to introduce four updated Mac models before the end of the year. The lineup includes a refreshed Mac Studio equipped with M5 Max or M5 Ultra chips, an iMac powered by the M5 chip that will feature a new colour palette, a Mac mini offering M5 and M5 Pro options, and a high‑end MacBook Ultra that may bring a new industrial design, OLED display and Dynamic Island.

In parallel, Apple unveiled the MacBook Neo, a budget‑focused laptop priced at roughly 550 € (about 599 $). It uses the A18 Pro chip (originally from the iPhone), offers a 13‑inch Retina display, up to 16 hours of battery life, USB‑C connectivity and a single external‑monitor support. Targeted at education and entry‑level users, the Neo aims to challenge Chromebooks and other low‑cost Windows ultrabooks. It runs macOS Tahoe, is built with 90 % recycled aluminium and comes in pastel colours.

Apple also upgraded its professional range with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips for the 14‑ and 16‑inch MacBook Pro models, delivering up to 18 CPU cores and up to 40 GPU cores, substantially improving performance for AI‑related workloads.
