Apple TV+ announces ‘Brothers’ starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson

Apple TV+ has announced the upcoming original comedy series ‘Brothers’, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The show features the two long-time friends playing fictionalized versions of themselves.

The plot follows Harrelson’s character as he moves his family to McConaughey’s ranch in Austin, Texas, after his daughter’s engagement falls through. The situation becomes complicated when McConaughey’s mother, played by Holland Taylor, accidentally reveals a decades-old secret that suggests the two friends might actually be brothers. Additionally, McConaughey’s character faces an identity crisis while considering a run for Governor of Texas.

Showrunner Lee Eisenberg, known for his work on ‘The Office’, leads the production alongside Paramount Television Studios. The eight-episode series is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, September 23, with the first two episodes released immediately and subsequent episodes following weekly through November 4.
