Apple TV Announces Release Date for 'Being Heumann' Film
Apple TV has set release dates for Siân Heder’s new film *Being Heumann*, a biographical drama about disability‑rights activist Judy Heumann. The movie will open in a limited theatrical rollout on 6 November 2026 and will begin streaming on Apple TV on 13 November 2026.
The film portrays the 1977 sit‑in at a federal building in San Francisco that helped secure enforcement of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Ruth Madeley plays Heumann, with Mark Ruffalo as Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare Joseph Califano Jr., joined by Dylan O’Brien, Rob Delaney, Ray Fisher and Jon Beavers. *Being Heumann* will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival on 10 September. Apple’s film unit previously earned historic Oscar wins with *CODA*, the 2022 Best Picture winner, and the new title is positioned as a potential awards contender.
