Apple TV+ renews horror‑comedy series Widow’s Bay for season 2

Apple TV+ announced that the horror‑comedy series Widow’s Bay will return for a second season. The renewal was confirmed on 11 June 2026, just before the season‑1 finale aired, and was accompanied by a multi‑year overall deal for creator‑showrunner Katie Dippold. The deal also includes a first‑look arrangement for future feature‑film projects.

The series, starring Matthew Rhys as Mayor Tom Loftis and featuring a supporting cast that includes Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root and Kevin Carroll, has become one of Apple TV+’s most discussed titles of 2026. Critics have given it a 97 % rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.3/10 on IMDb. A teaser for the season‑1 finale – titled “We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time!” – was posted on Apple’s social channels ahead of its June 16/17 broadcast. The renewal promises to explore more of the cursed New England island’s mysteries, with Dippold joking that “everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.”
