Apple TV reveals star-studded cast for Murderbot Season 2

Apple TV has announced an extensive new cast for the second season of its science fiction series, Murderbot, based on Martha Wells’ The Murderbot Diaries. The announcement, shared via a video featuring headshots, introduces approximately 25 new recurring and guest actors to the production.

Key new additions include Steve Buscemi, Wanda Sykes, Michael Sheen, Patton Oswalt, Tramell Tillman, Topher Grace, Nicholas Braun, and Katy O’Brian. Many of these performers have previous ties to Apple TV productions, such as Brendan Hunt from Ted Lasso and Tramell Tillman from Severance.

Alexander Skarsgård will return as the lead character, a self-aware security unit. Returning series regulars include Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones, and Tamara Podemski. Additionally, actors John Cho, Clark Gregg, Jack McBrayer, and DeWanda Wise are confirmed to return for the in-universe soap opera, The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon.

While the series is currently filming, Apple TV has not yet provided a specific release date, though industry speculation suggests a potential debut in 2026 or 2027.
