Small Prophets comedy series premieres on Apple TV

The British comedy series ‘Small Prophets’, created, written, and directed by Mackenzie Crook, premiered on Apple TV on October 7, 2026. The six-episode season follows Michael Sleep (Pearce Quigley), a man living an ordinary life in a Manchester suburb following the disappearance of his partner, Clea, seven years prior.

After his father, Brian (Michael Palin), shares an ancient alchemical recipe involving rainwater and horse manure, Michael attempts to create homunculi—magical spirits capable of predicting the future—in hopes of finding answers about Clea. The series explores themes of loss, hope, and friendship as Michael receives help from his colleague Kacey (Lauren Patel) while navigating the suspicions of his neighbors.

The production has received critical acclaim, including a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While the series was previously broadcast on the BBC in the United Kingdom, it has now moved to Apple TV for a global release, with weekly episode drops scheduled through early November.
