Apple TV releases Australian miniseries Desaparecida

The new Apple TV miniseries ‘Desaparecida’ (originally titled ‘Last Seen’) is a six-episode Australian psychological thriller. The series follows a father’s decade-long search for his missing daughter, focusing on themes of grief, obsession, and emotional survival.

While the story is inspired by the 2011 crime novel ‘The Dispatcher’ by American author Ryan David Jahn, the series features significant adaptations. Showrunner Kris Mrksa moved the setting from rural Texas to the remote coastal community of Port McKenna in Victoria, Australia, and extended the timeline of the disappearance from seven years to eleven years.
