Apple TV releases trailer for Mackenzie Crook comedy ‘Small Prophets’

Apple TV has released the official trailer for ‘Small Prophets’, a six-episode comedy series created, written, and directed by BAFTA winner Mackenzie Crook. The series is scheduled to debut on October 7 with its first two episodes.

The story follows Michael Sleep, played by Pearce Quigley, a DIY store employee whose life has remained stagnant for seven years following the disappearance of a loved one named Clea. Encouraged by his father, played by Monty Python’s Michael Palin, Michael attempts to use an ancient recipe involving alchemy and rainwater to create homunculi—small magical creatures believed to be able to predict the future.

The production blends British humor, fantasy elements, live action, and animation. It arrives on Apple TV following a successful run on the BBC and critical acclaim at the Series Mania 2026 festival, where it won Best Series in the International Panorama category and Lauren Patel won Best Actress. While the global launch begins in October, the series is expected to arrive in the United Kingdom in 2027.
